The Brief

Harry’s time at JD Sports was spent working as a Digital Designer at the in-house studio. He worked collaboratively with over 100 creatives across art direction, photography and motion graphics. His marquee project was the in-store style setter, a design system that could be rolled out internationally to new JD stores.

The design system was built for digital and print and allowed the other studio teams to have creative input each time regrading photography, copy and layout - so that each store opening felt fresh. This project was a true ominchannel approach.

I was fortunate enough to turn my University placement into my final major project. Working in the studio environment gave me invaluable insight to the creative industry. I later returned to JD as a Junior Digital Designer after my first role before becoming a Midweight Digital Designer.

During my studies at the University of Salford, I took a particular shine to UX/UI design, eventually landing myself an internship as a UI designer at JD. I was fortunate to shadow an incredibly talented team and not only taught on web design but also shown insight to motion, retouch, video and creative teams. This really helped me understand the holistic overview of a studio and knew this was something I wanted to work in.
